ALMA Cycle 6 results announcement and Phase 2

The UK ARC Node would like to congratulate all PIs and Co-Is on successful ALMA Cycle 6 projects. We look forward to working with the ever expanding UK ALMA community.

PIs of successful Cycle 6 projects are reminded that, in this Cycle, PIs generate their own scheduling blocks (SBs) using the OT. This is referred to as Phase 2. PIs can contact their Contact Scientists (CS) at the UK ARC Node via the ALMA Helpdesk. CSs are available to assist with SB generation, check the science goals prior to submission, or answer any other questions, especially if issues have been raised by the technical review. Phase 2 submission opens at 15:00 UT on Thursday, 2nd August, and closes on Thursday, 6th September, at 15:00 UT.

For more information and links to Phase 2 user guides please see the ESO webpage on Phase II.

Interferometric Data Processing Workshop: Dublin

10-12 Sep 2018

DIAS

Dublin, Ireland

Website

The goal of this workshop, lead by experts from the UK ALMA Regional Centre node and e-Merlin National Facility data, is to help people make the most of their interferometric data. The workshop will primarily focus on hands-on data processing activities using the CASA software, but the agenda will also include a brief review of both telescopes' current capabilities. Attendees may choose to either bring their own data, use ALMA data from the archive, or use one of the example ALMA or eMerlin data sets that we will prepare in advance.

This event has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 730562 [RadioNet].
