Observation of Cycle 5 will start in October 2017 and continue for 12 months, with 4000 hours of 12m time and 3000 hours of ACA time available. The key dates and anticipated capabilities are provided in the ALMA Cycle 5 pre-announcement which can be found on the official pre-annoucement webpage. The UK ARC Node staff can be contacted via the ALMA Helpdesk to answer any proposal and observing related questions you may have.

ALMA OST Version 5.0

In preparation for the upcoming ALMA Cycle 5 Call for Proposal period, the ALMA Observation Support Tool will be upgraded to version 5.0. This upgrade will be released on the 21st March 2017, which is the same date as the call for proposals is expected to be announced. The OST is an online ALMA simulated hosted and maintained by the UK ARC Node and is available at Version 5.0 will include the the Cycle 5 antenna configurations and other improvements to reflect ALMA's Cycle 5 capabilities. The upgrade does mean that the OST may be unavailable on 20th March.
